Our Story

The story begins at Cognizant, where Vivek and Ganapathy once worked in the data science practice. They were both driving large transformation projects, spearheading multiple engagements for global organisations and they know that their effectiveness as leaders was largely a function of the people they hire. Obviously, they frequently found themselves on interview panels, and many times, within the first few minutes of an interview, they could tell whether a candidate was the right fit or not. Soon enough, ineffective screening processes led to interview fatigue and inefficiencies, frustrating both recruiters and interviewers alike.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, as the world adapted to a new normal,their discussions around hiring challenges deepened. Around the same time, Vivek had a conversation with a recruiter who expressed her frustration over the hiring process today—particularly the overwhelming manual work and outdated systems they relied on. Knowing that this was not an isolated issue, Ganapathy reached out to additional recruiters to validate the concerns. After gathering insights and analysing them, they knew that they could solve some of these challenges with the help of AI. The evidence convinced Vivek, and together, they embarked on a journey to conduct primary and secondary research. The insights they gathered validated their belief that the hiring industry needed a smarter, AI-driven orchestration system—one that would enhance recruitment without replacing the human element.

As technologists, they started building an MVP and with each sprint, they could almost see the product take shape and deliver exactly what it was meant to do – simplify a recruiters job by automating a lot of manual activities like funnel reduction, candidate engagement, interview questionnaire preparation and selection. It is around this time that they met Anju, who was running an HR consulting company with a recruitment vertical and had a strong background in HR Tech. She had been a recruiter herself in the beginning of her career and she believed in the value that we promised to improve efficiencies as well as to prevent her team from being burnt out with the stress of fulfilment.Their core belief remained unchanged: hiring would always require a human touch. While technology continues to evolve—from legacy systems to AI and blockchain—people remain the driving force behind every innovation. HR teams should focus on cultural fit, soft skills, and interpersonal qualities while leveraging AI to eliminate tedious, manual tasks. Their vision was to create a system that empowers recruiters, making their work more efficient rather than replacing them entirely.This vision gave birth to Recruitment Bricks. Inspired by the modularity of Lego, they envisioned a recruitment platform that offered flexibility and adaptability. Instead of a one-size-fits-all solution, they designed an ecosystem of stackable services—each functioning as a “brick” that companies could integrate based on their needs. One client might require a simple WhatsApp integration for candidate communication, while another could benefit from an advanced AI-driven screening module. With this modular approach, Recruitment Bricks allows organizations to customize their hiring processes seamlessly. Their journey with Recruitment Bricks is just beginning, but they remain committed to revolutionizing the hiring process—blending AI-driven efficiency with the irreplaceable human touch.
